Army Corps of Engineers Builds Levee in Puerto Rico

YAUCO, Puerto Rico, Nov. 9, 2017 — Within days, the Army Corps of Engineers can move a river. They proved this recently during an emergency levee construction project here. Varela, along with a team of engineers and support staff, worked long hours in order to expedite the levee project after the Yauco River burst over its banks into the Lucchetti community, destroying homes and forcing the evacuation of residents.
