The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed two cooperation agreements with Finnish Defence Forces Logistic Command (FDF LogCom) related to torpedo systems for use in anti-submarine warfare operations. The first of the new agreements is intended to support cooperation between the two companies during the development, procurement and launch of the new Swedish lightweight torpedo system, known as Torpedsystem 47. Naval System Department head rear admiral Odd Werin said: “This creates opportunities for coordination and thereby lower cost for sustaining and further development of Torpedsystem 47. “During 2022, the Swedish Armed Forces will receive a completely new torpedo system, better in all aspects than the older torpedo Torpedsystem 45.” “Widened opportunities for cooperation within a...
