Army punishes 82nd Airborne leader over affair with female infantry private

A U.S. Army first sergeant who warned 82nd Airborne Division troops against unprofessional conduct in integrated units has been disciplined over an affair. Former First Sgt. Chase Usher of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team is now known as Sgt. 1st Class Chase Usher due to an affair on the North Carolina base. He was removed from his top noncommissioned role and given a staff job. “Critics said it was bound to happen, and, sure enough, it did,” Army Times deadpanned Wednesday.
