RAF Airman in Afghanistan awarded a Commendation for his outstanding commitment to the job http…

A Royal Air Force Airman in Afghanistan has been awarded an Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Commendation for his outstanding commitment to the job during his deployment at Kandahar Air Field (KAF). Senior Aircraftsman Conor Brown, (28), served a four-month deployment in the 24-hour Receipt and Dispatch Section at KAF working in the Deployed Supply Group. SAC Brown joined the RAF in 2004 as a Supplier and has served on numerous operations in Afghanistan, Oman, the Falkland Islands and Italy in support of the Libya conflict. He has worked at RAF Brize Norton and RAF Wittering. He now returns to the UK on promotion to Corporal and a move to RAF Benson. During Brown’s deployment he witnessed some unexpected and extreme weather for Afghanistan; this affected the Tactical Air Transport (TacAT) fleet of aircraft.
