One millionth care package delivered to USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group
GULF OF OMAN (NNS) -- Two Sailors from the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HST CSG), received the 1 millionth and the 1 million and first packages from Operation Gratitude, Dec. 12. Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that sends nearly 100,000 care packages to service members, wounded warriors, veterans and military family members each year. The packages included items such as snacks, toiletries, clothing, and letters from volunteers thanking service members. To celebrate the donation of their 1 millionth care package, three volunteers from Operation Gratitude, including founder Carolyn Blashek, traveled to aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) and guided-missile cruiser USS Gettysburg (CG 64) to deliver the packages to the Sailors.
