RAF Fast Jet Aircraft To Salute Audiences At Edinburgh Castle. The Royal Air Force will once again support the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo by supplying fast jet combat aircraft for a series of six flypasts. Frontline Typhoon and Tornado GR4s from RAF Leuchars in Fife and RAF Lossiemouth in Moray will, in turn, salute the crowds at Edinburgh Castle this August. Flying at 1,000 feet, the aircraft will travel east to west along the Royal Mile and over the castle esplanade. In addition and for one night only, one of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams, the Red Arrows, will make a special appearance on August 9th .
