Red Arrows Update 25 October 2012: Weekly training update from the Red Arrows #RedArrows

RAFAT returned from a week of non-flying to find Lincolnshire blessed with particularly inclement weather, most of England being covered in a thick blanket of fog, precluding formation training sorties to be conducted at Scampton. All was not lost, however; the fact that better weather in North West Wales was only a short 20 minute flight away meant that 3 aircraft deployed to RAF Valley, on the isle of Anglesey, for essential 'Continuation' training. Because the Hawk synthetic training unit (simulator) is also based at RAF Valley, 6 of the pilots seized the opportunity to conduct routine Simulator sorties, practising their drills in the event of in-flight emergencies in the safe haven of the dome that houses the Hawk simulator.
