Denmark is looking to increase its fixed-wing airlift capacity with an additional Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules as the four it currently fields are struggling to satisfy the country's expanding requirements, a senior military official disclosed on 30 September. Speaking under the Chatham House Rule at an event in London, the official said that the air force's four Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules aircraft are being stretched too hard in trying to meet the amount of airlift that is being asked of them, and that the high command is looking at options for augmenting them with an additional airframe.
