Children receive medals too at 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regt welcome home parade

It has been a very busy year for the Vikings from 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment with troops scattered across the globe on operations and exercises in support of Britain’s Defence interests. Today, at Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich those troops are at last all home, reunited with their families and their comrades; and their efforts were today rewarded with a special medals parade and party which involved everyone, even the soldiers’ children. The Vikings are the 1st Battalion of The Royal Anglian Regiment, a Light Role Infantry Battalion that recruits from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. Based in Woolwich, London, the unit uses the most up to date weapon systems and the most advanced communications available.
