Indonesia and Sweden sign defence co-operation accord - IHS Jane's 360

The governments of Indonesia and Sweden have signed a defence collaboration accord with a view to expanding related trade and technology links, the Indonesian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on 20 December. The bilateral 'Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Defence' was signed in Jakarta by Indonesia's Minister of Defence Raymizard Ryacudu and his visiting Swedish counterpart Peter Hultqvist, the MoD said in a statement. It added that the agreement is focused on boosting relations across a range of activities. These include supporting the development of co-operation between the defence industries of Indonesia and Sweden. The MoD said that this would be achieved through technology transfers, joint research and production, and joint marketing and sales efforts. Want to read more?
